Action C.1:
The contract has been signed on 4th of December. Subcontractor has already contacted several times the Project Manager in order to discuss the implementation of the Action on time. Purchase of the materials that needed for the implementation of the Action. (In the framework of this contract the implementation of Action C.6 is foreseen as well).
Action E.1:
On 6th of December, HSPN in cooperation with Environmental Education Center of Stylida-Ypati organized an environmental education excursion for students in Oiti National Park. Students first visited the Visitors Information Center of Ypati, they informed about the project and then they visited the National Park.
On 14, 15 and 16th of December a three-day seminar organized by HSPN in cooperation with Environmental Education Center of Stylida-Ypati for teachers. The participants visited the Visitors Information Center of Ypati, the National Park of Oiti. Experts from ARCTUROS organized several activities for the teachers.
Action E.4:
Sub-action 2: Educational and training of stakeholders in sustainable grassland management in accordance to the aims and the results of the project
On 7th and 8th of December IMFE successfully organized a seminar with title "Actions to improve the mountain pastures of Kallidromo and rational management - Common Agricultural Policy". The seminar was addressed to farmers-livestock breeders-beekeepers and it was held at Local Community Office of Mendenitsa, Municipality of Molos from 15.00 p.m. until 21.00 p.m. (7th December). The first-day speeches were organized by experts. In particular, the subject of the seminar concerned: (a) the LIFE - ForOpenForests project and its actions for the improvement of Kallidromo mountainous pastures, for purposes of grazing livestock, (b) the results of the actions for grazing the mountainous pastures of Kallidromo and proposals for their rational management, (c) beekeeping, (d) food safety and quality, and modern technologies in their processing and maintenance and (e) implementation of the common agricultural policy of Fthiotida. The second-day (8th December) was carried out an informative/educational visit was organized to pastures of Mt. Kallidromo. All participants who attended the two-day seminar, free of charge, were granted a certificate of attendance.
