Researchers from UoA, IMFE and HSPN made a trip to Oiti and Kallidromo mountains for field work as follows:
a) on Mt. Oiti and Mt. Kallidromo regarding the floristic composition and vegetative structure of mountain grasslands and seasonal pond habitats b)on Mt. Oiti regarding the structure of the J. foetidissima habitat (9560*), and regarding gender composition in a population at “Phacitsa”, a location on the north side of the Gorgopotamos gorge.

The external assistant-ornithologist made his ninth field trip (21-24/6/2013) and submitted a full report. Bird activity was higher on this visit compared to the previous ones.
Action A10
The field visit in the project area took place on 18, 19 and 20 of June. The team of ARCTUROS consisted of Giorgos Papakostas and Kostas Stefanidis. They visited the project area and made contact with all the relevant stakeholders and special target groups.

The two questionnaires for visitors and local people are being distributed. More than 50 questionnaires have been completed during this month.

Research of the existing international, EU and national legislation concerning the protection and management of the natural environment in the two project areas continues.
Action C.5
Continuation of watering and other plant care for the 9,000 transplanted Cupressus sempervirens seedlings and for the 150 grafted plants established as a pilot trial.

The 4 wheel drive vehicle (a Suzuki Grand Vitara) has been purchased. The vehicle has already been used in the two expeditions of the project team for field work.

During the above mentioned field visit of ARCTUROS researchers information was also collected about the distribution of fruit trees in the area and the distribution of beehives. Contact was initiated with beekeepers regarding the provision of electric fences as well as with stockbreeders regarding the provision of Hellenic Livestock Guarding Dogs. Information was provided to these target groups as well as other interested stakeholders, regarding possible subsidy of electric fences through the implementation of agro-environmental measures by the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food.

Two of the notice boards of the project have been erected on Mt. Oiti, at the main entrances of the National Park near Pavliani and Kastania.

Preparation and submission of the Inception Report. Preparation of the External Monitoring Team’ mission in the project area (during the third week of July).
Action F.2
On June 14, 2013 the first meeting of the Stakeholders Committee was held in Lamia. The meeting was attended by representatives of the local government, of community organizations, of farmers and hunters as well as members of local environmental NGOs.
General
On June 22-24/06, the HSPN organized a three day excursion to the project area for its members. Experts from the project team accompanied the visitors and informed them about the various aspects of the project.
