The external assistant-ornithologist made his fifth (4-6/3/213) and sixth (17-19/3/2013) field trip and submitted a full report. Bird activity was higher on this visit compared to the previous ones. The next field visit has been planned for 2-/4/2013.

Planning the working team and the timetable of the action. The first field visits postponed till April due to bad weather conditions and limited access to the study areas.

Research of the existing international, EU and national legislation concerning the protection and management of the natural environment in the two project areas continues.
Action C.5
Cultivation of Cupressus sempervirens seedlings in order to be used for grafting of Juniperus foetidissima during next year continues. Collection of about 150 Juniperus foetidissima grafts from Mt. Oiti for grafting on 3-year-old Cupressus sempervirens plants. This activity is considered as a pilot for the big trials which will be established in the coming years of the project.

Continuation of seed germination preliminary experiments for Veronica oetaea*.
Action C.9
Contact with the Special Secretariat for Forests, Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, continues. Results show that the study for the wild-fruit-tree habitat status in the project area can be based on the Biodiversity Law. Study areas have different status (protected or not) and further investigation is needed with the combination with on site visits in the field.

On March 12, the Project Manager presented the project to the members of the Managing Body of Mt. Oiti National Park.

The English version of the website is completed and is visible on the web (www.foropenforests.org). The Greek version will be ready in early April.
Action F.1
Preparation of the Inception Report draft and distribution to all partners. On March 13, the Project Manager organized several meetings in Lamia with representatives from the relevant departments of the Region of Sterea Ellada.
