Several field trips in MtsOiti and Kallidromotook place. A total of23 soil samples were collected from the grasslands: 9 from the 6230* grasslands on Mt. Oiti (Alikena, Tourkos, Livadies and Greveno) and 14 from the 6210* grasslands in Mt. Kallidromo (Gioza, Palaiosouvala, Mourouzos. Mouriza and Nevropoli). The soil samples were dried in the lab and initial preparations works has been completedprior to the chemical analysis.

Field trips in Mt. Oiti for mapping new populations of Juniperusfoetidissima. Tree cores were collected for age estimation, and heights and breast diameters were measured from Juniperusfoetidissima trees at theTsoukaarea.

The external assistant-ornithologist made his twenty-thirdfield trip (15-17/07/2014) and submitted a full report.
Action C.3
The GPSR tracking ringers were tested and prepared for attachment to 10 cattle on Mt. Kallidromo. There is a small delay becausethe animals are already dispersed in the mountain pasturesand it is difficult to approach them and attach the tracking ringer.
Metallic information signs with the program’s logos were designed in order to be attached on some of the cages already placed in the grasslands in Oiti and Kalidromo.

Conservation and plant care works of the 9,000 transplanted Cupressussempervirens plants. Growth measurements were also taken.
A lot of the Cupressus sempervirens seedlings grafted with Juniperus foetidissima grafts died, due to a failure of the automatic watering system that was not noticed on time, probably in correlation with the prolonged dry-hot conditions experienced in July. (the estimation of the failure will be during the next days).

Collection of seeds of the typical species of the temporary ponds of Mt Oiti for germination tests and reproduction of the species.

The stockbreeders that received Hellenic Livestock Guarding Dogs were contactedin order to monitor the condition of the donated dogs.
